Sana'a - The National Commission for Prisoners and Abductees has confirmed that the so-called Security Bureau of the Houthi militia has launched a systematic campaign of arbitrary arrests and abductions since May 2025, targeting hundreds of civilians, activists, and employees of international organizations.

According to the Commission’s statement, the wave of detentions has included staff members affiliated with United Nations agencies as well as senior figures from the General People's Congress party. The campaign, described as “coordinated and escalating,” has reportedly focused on individuals in Sana’a and other Houthi-controlled areas, with detainees held in undisclosed locations and denied legal representation.

The Houthi leadership has not issued an official response to the allegations.
