Paris – France on Tuesday strongly condemned the expansion of the Israeli military offensive into central Gaza, describing it as a dangerous escalation that further exacerbates the already dire humanitarian situation in the region.

In a statement issued by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Paris stated that “the latest Israeli military operation accelerates the deterioration of living conditions in Gaza, where the population is already suffering from malnutrition and the threat of famine, amid severe food insecurity and lack of essential services.”

France called for the immediate cessation of military operations targeting densely populated civilian areas and urged unrestricted access for humanitarian aid to all parts of the Gaza Strip. The statement also emphasized the “need to respect international humanitarian law and ensure the protection of civilians from the effects of the conflict.”

The statement concluded by reaffirming France’s commitment to supporting international efforts to de-escalate the situation and resume the political process aimed at achieving a just and lasting resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
