Yemen's Houthis Announce Drone Strikes on Israeli Targets

Yemen’s Houthis announced a series of drone operations targeting sites within Israel.

According to a statement from military spokesperson Yahya Saree, three separate operations were carried out: two drones were directed toward Jaffa, two toward a military site in Ashkelon, and one toward a target in the Negev Desert.

Saree claimed that all five drones reached their intended destinations and described the attacks as precise and effective. The operations are framed as part of a broader Houthi strategy to pressure Israel to halt its offensive on Gaza and lift the ongoing blockade.

These strikes mark what the group calls the “fourth phase” of its escalation, which includes targeting vessels linked to Israeli ports regardless of their flag or ownership. Since the beginning of the conflict in Gaza, the Houthis have launched numerous drones and missiles in Israel’s direction.

This development coincides with an intensifying humanitarian crisis in Gaza, where more than 206,000 people have been reported killed since the start of hostilities—many of them women and children.

International outcry continues to build over the scale of civilian suffering and calls for immediate intervention have grown louder.
