Trump Privately Approves Iran Strike Plans, Holds Final Order Amid Rising Tensions
Former U.S. President Donald Trump has privately approved military plans to strike Iran, but has withheld issuing a final order, according to reports citing senior aides familiar with the deliberations.
The decision comes amid escalating conflict between Iran and Israel, with both nations exchanging fire and casualties mounting on both sides. Trump reportedly told advisors that he supports military action targeting Iran’s nuclear infrastructure, particularly the Fordow enrichment facility, a heavily fortified site buried deep underground.
“I may do it, I may not do it,” Trump said when asked about a potential strike, adding, “The next week is going to be very big, maybe less than a week”.
The U.S. military has significantly increased its presence in the region, deploying additional Navy destroyers and a second aircraft carrier strike group to the Middle East. While the Pentagon maintains these moves are defensive, analysts suggest they also serve as strategic pressure on Tehran.
Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has warned of “irreparable consequences” should the U.S. intervene militarily, vowing that Iran will not surrender to external threats.
As diplomatic options narrow, the world watches closely to see whether Trump will escalate the situation or continue to use military posturing as leverage in the standoff over Iran’s nuclear ambitions.
