Pro-STC Demonstrations Erupt in Al-Ghaydah, Eastern Yemen

Al-Ghaydah – The city of Al-Ghaydah, capital of Yemen’s eastern Al-Mahra governorate, witnessed mass demonstrations on Tuesday in support of southern government forces, marking the latest popular mobilization across the southern provinces.

The rallies were organized at the call of the Southern Transitional Council (STC), with participants chanting slogans backing the southern government forces, describing them as the guarantor of security and stability in the south.

The demonstrations come in the wake of Saudi Arabia’s announcement that it had carried out a limited military operation targeting weapons and combat vehicles at Mukalla Port in Hadramout governorate, southeastern Yemen.

Observers note that the protests reflect growing public alignment with southern forces amid heightened regional tensions, underscoring the volatile backdrop against which coalition operations and local political dynamics continue to unfold.
