DNOC Distribution continues to strengthen its position as one of the UAE’s leading innovators by expanding the use of artificial intelligence (AI) across its operations, according to a news report by Zawya, which added that the company’s AI strategy aligns with the UAE’s Vision 2031, supporting digital transformation and a knowledge-based economy.
According to the report, Eng. Bader Al Lamki, CEO of ADNOC Distribution said that AI is central to the company’s operations, enabling enhanced customer experiences and improved efficiency across its UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt portfolios.
To date, ADNOC has launched more than 21 AI initiatives, with several already delivering measurable results.
Key initiatives include a customer demand analysis programme processing over 220 million transactions annually to optimise product availability and operational efficiency. AI-powered fleet management analyses traffic data to identify optimal delivery routes, reducing travel time, improving service, and lowering carbon emissions. ADNOC’s fleet has operated on biofuels for two years, further reducing its environmental footprint.
Looking ahead, the company is advancing systems such as “Fill & Go,” which enables seamless fueling via license plate recognition or QR code scanning, and “Click & Collect,” offering personalised product suggestions to enhance the shopping experience. The AI-powered self-checkout system, now scaled beyond its pilot phase, has cut transaction times by over 60%, improving throughput at stations.
Other AI initiatives have strengthened operational performance: fuel demand forecasting reduces stockouts and logistics costs, while the “Smart Assortment” programme tailors retail offerings to local demand, improving sales and reducing waste. Real-time monitoring tools also cut maintenance and cleaning response times by up to 40%.
Al Lamki emphasised that these efforts not only support ADNOC Distribution’s business goals but also advance the UAE’s national digital transformation strategy.
Last month, on Emirati Women’s Day, Oil and Gas Middle East highlighted the contributions of ADNOC’s Eslah Ali Al Hammadi, Manager Technology at ADNOC Gas; Zainab Al Aidaroos, VP Group HSE and Planning; and Dr. Mariam Al Hendi, Manager, Technical Excellence.
